Knowing that once you drive your brand new vehicle off of the lot where you bought it depreciates upwards of 20 percent is a hard fact to know. This means a brand new car will be worth as little as 40 percent of its original purchase price after five years. What is depreciation you say? It represents essentially how much of a vehicle’s value you’ve used over time. What affects the value of your car? Some variables come in such as the specific brand, are they considered luxury or are they considered a cost-efficient brand? What kind of vehicle is it, a truck, SUV, or sedan? Mileage, accidents, wear and tear also affect the value of the vehicle.
Buying a custom Land Rover Defender from E.C.D. Automotive Design comes as a brand new vehicle to you. With everything restored to the utmost luxury and the highest quality, it is exactly like driving home on a brand new vehicle. You would think since it is like driving home in a brand new car as soon as you leave the ECD parking lot that it would lower the value. But to your surprise, an ECD vehicle actually increases in value by an average of 16% over time. That means if you were to sell your vehicle 2-3 years down the road, you would be able to sell it for more than you bought it rather than buying, for example, a G-wagon from Mercedes. Once you drive the G-Wagon off of the Mercedes Benz parking lot it will lose its value by downwards of 22.15% (Used-First, 2019) So if you were to sell your G-Wagon in 2-3 years you would not make a profit on it, you would lose money from your original buying price.
