The NAS Defender, aka the Original Defender for North America, is the creme de la creme for Defenders due to its rarity and custom features. The vehicles were sold here in the U.S. in limited quantities. While they came packed with their own list of rare accessories, you may come upon a NAS or Original Defender without all of its original accessories. Here are some of the best game-changing accessories that will bring out the true heritage of your NAS or Vintage-looking Defender.
Paint is one of our favorite “accessories” to mention because we have our own paint facility and can customize colors for all of our clients. But when it comes to the heritage look and feel, you can only go right with having a classic traditional Land Rover color for your vintage Defender. Some of our most popular heritage colors are Keswick Green, British Racing Green, Arles Blue, Alpine White, Beluga Black, and Willow Green. Add a white roof, and the heritage safari Defender look is practically complete.
You can never go wrong with a classic steel wheel for your vintage Defender. Make it look classic by going with white or body color wheels. Steel wheels can completely change the vibe of your build and give it that 1980’s vintage look.
Original to the NAS Defender 110, the roof rack basket combo is an awesome accessory to add to your build to make it look like the vintage do everything vehicle it was meant to be. The basket can hold additional gas cans, travel gear, or outdoor recreational gear as well, so it isn’t just for looks. The basket can be black or body color to add the heritage feel. Install a full roll cage under the roof rack, and your utility vehicle is ready to turn heads on the road, as well as giving you some added safety.
You might not be taking your vintage Defender into the bush or offroad, but if you’re all about the traditional Defender aesthetic, then a full winch bumper with a brush guard is the ideal exterior accessory for your build. Add on some huge Hella spot lamps for a true overland Defender look. Not only is the brush guard bumper a cool look, but it’s also a great tool in the event that you decide to show off your beautiful vintage build and end up in a sticky situation.
Another accessory that’s not really an accessory but a great addition for your vintage build is an LT4 or Tesla Engine upgrade. While the gear isn’t vintage, it can take your old Defender and propel it into the 21st century, adding to its overall lifetime. The best way to show appreciation to your vintage Defender is by increasing its longevity.
Since we specialize in full defender restoration ; custom trucks, heritage-style builds come up frequently in our yearly production line. As true Defender enthusiasts, we always love to see custom Defenders with a heritage look come onto the line. Most exterior accessories don’t serve a purpose in modern times, but they can be complete game-changers for the look and feel of your vintage Defender build.
