The Process of Custom Design at ECD Auto Design

At ECD Auto Design, the design process is an exciting opportunity for the client to come in and completely customize their classic Land Rover Defender, Range Rover Classic or Jaguar E-Type. ECD’s clients have had the opportunity to go through the process at our Kissimmee, Florida location or during online meetings with our designers, giving them true ownership of their vehicle.

The process of custom vehicle design at ECD Automotive begins with a consultation, whether it is for a Defender, Range Rover Classic, Series IIA or Jaguar E-Type. During this time, the customer discusses their ideas, preferences, and needs with the design team who then uses this information to create a preliminary design, which is presented to the customer for review and feedback.

When an ECD Auto Design client comes in to design their restored Defender, vintage Land Rover Series IIA or Jaguar E-Type, they are able see firsthand many of the tangible options to choose from for your custom vehicle.

The process includes developing a complete 3D digital model of the clients’ custom vehicles, which introduces over 2 million Land Rover Defender, Range Rover Classic and Jaguar E-Type configurations. The 3D model provides such a level of detail at any camera angle, so you are not just stuck with predetermined position. Our team walks the client through the entire process, and it is truly an experience of a lifetime to be able to build their one-of-a-kind vehicle.

ECD Auto Design Takes State-Of-The-Art Design Studio On the Road

ECD Automotive understands that not everyone has the time for in-person meetings at our Kissimmee, Florida location. Although the process can all be managed remotely, as a forward-thinking company that is truly client-focused ECD has begun to take a design studio on the road to accommodate those that would like firsthand interaction at the comfort of their location.

Instead of having to travel to a physical location, customers can interact with ECD's design team from the comfort of their own territory, using a combination of digital technology and physical samples. The mobile unit is a 24-foot state of the art trailer that houses an abundance of samples so the client can see and feel first-hand some options including wood flooring, paint, door hinges, handles, wheels, custom gauge sets, and a selection of seats, steering wheels, upholstery options, etc. It is the same experience as you would have at our location, except for walking along the production lines.

The ECD Mobile Design Studio is outfitted with Starlink Wi-Fi, offering clients on the road access to our full design configurator, where they can begin to create their own vehicle digitally. The new vehicle configurator is also available online for anyone to create their dream classic Land Rover Defender, Range Rover Classic and Jaguar E-Type vehicles.  This is a great tool for anyone to access anytime, from anywhere whether it is via computer, tablet, or phone. The added benefit of working with one of our designers within our Mobile Design Studio or at our Kissimmee, Florida location is that they can also help guide you through the process, provide suggestions or inspirations. Their years of experience are invaluable, while the client is also given full flexibility to choose from the lengthy menu to build their custom vehicle to suit.

Our new design studio has already made great strides on the west coast with immediate plans to travel to Denver and Chicago.  As our product is bespoke, so is our schedule as we try to accommodate clients in prime locations in regions where it can make the most impact.
