Kissimmee, Fla. (May 29, 2018): E.C.D. Automotive Design (ECD), the award-winning automotive group, unveiled over a dozen custom designed vehicles this quarter – four of which showcase the automotive giant’s unique levels of luxury produced at their headquarters in Kissimmee, Florida.
Known for having redefined the luxury build experience, E.C.D. Automotive Design has created many of the most luxurious vehicles on the road today – each as distinct as the individual commissioning the bespoke beauty.
Highlighted below are four recent vehicles to roll off the line at the Rover Dome and now serve as a powerful testament to the significant customization capabilities of the highly-skilled ECD team and the companies “Luxury Build Experience” journey.
“Until our Luxury Build Experience was introduced, the custom car buyer’s voice was largely ignored by the industry,” said Scott Wallace, E.C.D. Automotive Design Co-Owner. “In large part, luxury vehicle buyers were relegated to a standard list of accessories and options. Our Luxury Build Experience, however, begins by stripping a Defender or Range Rover Classic down to its chassis and letting the customer decide how it will be built. Each of these amazing vehicles is a brilliant example of the success of this process where our clients are empowered to orchestrate the build of a vehicle that is tailored-made for their specific needs and lifestyle.”
Project Alpha
With its classic, understated elegance the re-imagined RRC boasts a sleek exterior accentuated by a premium interior dripping with classic elegance that gives this one-of-a-kind vehicle an upscale, yet modern feel.
Project Alpha is a classic-car experience like no other. Based on a 1995 long wheelbase model, featuring a 6.2-liter LS3 with a six-speed automatic transmission this RRC is ready for any road, whether it be cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway or driving down the 405. The Mid grey exterior highlights the subtle design changes made my ECD including the larger 16” wheels. The modern dash is highlighted with Dakota Digital gauges and a Sony infotainment system with JLAudio speakers and subwoofer.
The new E.C.D. RRC will finally bring the vehicle into the twenty-first century, without sacrificing its classic heritage and originality,” states Elliot Humble, Co-Owner of E.C.D. Automotive Design. “We’ve made it look and feel much more premium by focusing on some key design elements. For example, we kept the original seats, but completely rebuilt them with premium leather, stitching and trim appointments. There is nothing comparable on the market.”
Project Hampton
The second, a lavish head-turner is Project Hampton, a right-hand drive that sports a rebuilt Rover V8 engine with an automatic transmission in a Corris Grey eggshell finish and a black Safari style soft top perfect for protecting its occupants from the flock of seagulls soaring high above.
Built as part of the Heritage Collection, Project Hampton is a handcrafted and purpose-built vehicle designed to the client’s needs and specifications. Like its namesake implies, The Heritage Collection sets the standard for a classic built Defender by appealing to the hard-core Defender enthusiasts that love and respect the classic elements of the iconic Defender brand.
This one-of-a-kind beach cruiser is a full-size, ten-seater with plenty of space for the kids’ sand buckets & spades, Puma front seats and four inward facing bench seats in Panda charcoal & black leather with custom charcoal stitching, Bluetooth sound so you can enjoy music at the beach - sitting on 16” Tornado Wheels with BFGoodrich tires.
“What a great vehicle to have had the chance to build,” states Tom Humble, Founder & Co-Owner, E.C.D. Automotive Design. “We love when our client’s challenge us to create the forgettable and this truck is definitely that!”
Project Kakarot
When you think of driving a custom Land Rover Defender, the ability to drive fast isn’t normally the first box you check on your “must have” list - except in the case of Project Kakarot, the fastest custom D110 ever built by the British custom automotive creators!
Built for an NBA superstar, and featured on a recent segment of MotorWeek, this handcrafted, stud is an ECD D110 featuring a wicked LS3 V8 E-rod engine that turns 565hp and features a custom Green Black Pearl full gloss finish. This amazing 6 second custom D110 is quick off the starting line , hitting 0-60 in less than 6 seconds thus able to dominate any road and look great doing it!
Instead of the traditional Rover interior, Kakarot boasts a luxurious cabin featuring twin Corbeau Trailcat front seats covered in perforated leather with a custom honeycomb stitching and a variety of tasteful and functional accessories including a bass pounding premium sound system, Moal Bomber gauges, and a Momo Prototipo 6C steering wheel.
Project Boss
Built for a world-renowned producer, director, actor and playwright, Project Boss is a beast of a vehicle that demands attention whether on the red carpet or parked outside the local coffee shop.
A custom ECD D110, this dark knight features a Kahn wide body kit and is coated in a Matte Grey with a full roll cage and a Smittybilt roof rack. The interior sports a seven-person seat arrangement with plenty of space for golf clubs, family or stage props.
