Taking care of your E.C.D. vehicle sounds like a daunting task, but with a general maintenance schedule and an understanding of specific cleaning methods, it is pretty easy. Cleaning the exterior and interior, fixing paint chips, and general battery and tire care will be covered here!
Regularly cleaning the exterior of your custom E.C.D. vehicle is key to maintaining the integrity of the beautifully finished paint, especially after it gets dirty going off-road or just through everyday use. Make sure you remove massive deposits of mud and dirt with a hose before washing the vehicle. Some high-pressure cleaning systems are sufficiently powerful to penetrate door and window seals, and damage trim and door locks. Please do not use a power wash system in the engine bay as it may damage fragile components and electrical systems. Wash your E.C.D. custom vehicle frequently with a sponge and cold or lukewarm water with suitable car shampoo.
Make sure the underbody of your E.C.D custom vehicle is clear of any corrosive materials used on highways to control snow and ice or wading in salt water is key to keeping the underbody corrosion free. Regularly flush the underbody with plain water and make sure to wash the underbody of any mud.
Cleaning the interior of your custom E.C.D. vehicle is easy when done right. Make sure you don’t use the wrong cleaning products, as some chemicals may not be safe for your interior. Always use the proper cloths when wiping down your interior to ensure you keep the surfaces in good condition. E.C.D. recommends using microfiber cloths. Using only a soft dry fabric to clean the instrument pack along with the stereo and speakers will ensure that they all remain in working condition.
Every vehicle needs an oil change after a certain amount of time to keep the engine functioning properly. Once you’ve put approximately 7,500 miles on your custom E.C.D. vehicle, you should perform the following routine maintenance: rotate the tires, check engine oil level and oil life percentages, change the engine oil and filters, inspect the spark plug wires, and visually inspect accessory drive belts. The next service required after that will be at 15,000 miles.
Keeping your custom E.C.D. vehicle in excellent condition through routine care and maintenance ensures that it performs well on the road and off the road. For more information on service and maintenance details, please check the E.C.D. Automotive User Handbook that came with your vehicle.
