Coming into 2021, E.C.D. has made huge strides into introducing a range of modern elements to our list of signature build options. We always set a goal of reaching new benchmarks when it comes to adding modern elements to the Rover Dome. From performance to cosmetic, our ability to produce newer custom features and innovations is what makes us the premier Defender builder and restoration shop in the U.S.
Our most significant innovation to the Rover Dome includes our introduction of the electric Tesla Drivetrain engine we developed in collaboration with Electric Classic Cars in the U.K. This engine option is available for any build model in our lineup and offers up to 220 miles of drive and a drive that’s 0-60 mph in 5 seconds. Shortly after introducing the electric drivetrain option, we began the build process of our first electric build, the Electric Range Rover Classic, which should be finishing up production in a few short months. We also had our first LT4 build come off the line with Project Langetti; it is our most powerful performance engine to date and brings the Defender into the 21st-century for those who love speed and a smooth ride.
Our introduction of the nearly full panoramic roof was one of our most drastic cosmetic innovations of 2020. While we had toyed with the concept over the years, it simply took a client who wanted to bring this modern touch to their custom build. Project Windswept, our first build with this feature, was delivered in the fall to its home in Canada.
At the beginning of the year, we announced the introduction of our addition of the hydro-dipping booth we added to the Rover Dome. Two of our techs have already undergone certification to bring hydro-dipping in-house. The cosmetic feature can introduce a range of new looks and customization for our builds’ internal finishes and hardware.
With our Project Phantom coming off the line, we also had the ability to try several new cosmetics features, from a hand-crafted starlit headliner to its custom mini-fridge center console that runs through its captain seat middle row. This build was also our first to feature all-metal finishes on the inside, and its custom upholstery was both newsworthy and jaw-dropping.
With an endless amount of customizations, E.C.D. is always excited to try out anything a client has in mind for their custom Defender build. Get in touch to start yours, [email protected].
