Unless you’re a Land Rover Defender mechanic with years of experience in the vehicle, we here to dissuade you from trying to self-restore your classic Defender.

Parts

As a custom restoration shop, we can tell you now that your journey towards rebuilding your custom Defender would abruptly start at just trying to find the proper parts you need. While the internet provides several avenues for finding parts, sourcing them is a whole other ball game in itself. We don’t recommend it. We have an entire team dedicated to working with top brands that make and sell quality parts for the Land Rover Defender. Some of them take months to get in from order; some of them are extremely rare and cannot be easily found, so we don’t typically recommend self-restoration if you don’t already have a supplier.

Experience

The Land Rover Defender is a vehicle that has been around, albeit rarely, for almost 30 years now. The vehicle is much like a rare instrument in that it needs to be carefully studied and practiced for years to understand its inner workings and needed repairs. Things like engine or transmission swaps, upgrading wire harnesses, or even upgrading the stereo are something that just anyone could do.
