Our History - ECD Automotive Design
2014

FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Our facility is over 100,000 square feet and growing with over 70 full-time employees building the best award-winning custom vehicles in the USA. Our founders grew up in England, the Midlands, some 40 miles from the famous Lode Lane factory where Land Rover Defenders were produced. They were surrounded by these original vehicles from an early age, mostly driving around on friends’ farms, sometimes riding along with bales of hay, the family dog, or the occasional farm animal. 2015 (scott and elliot arrive)

THE HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

ECD Automotive Design was founded by Tom and his wife in 2013. Their vision for custom vehicles began with a small workshop and quickly grew as they imported and restored classic vehicles. In 2015, a pivotal meeting at a local WaWa between Tom, his brother Elliot, and Scott, a private investor with a Blue Chip corporate background, changed the company’s trajectory. With Scott’s passion for cars, ignited at age 10 by a Porsche mug, the team realized they needed full control of the build process to become the best in the industry. Today, ECD operates a 100,000-square-foot facility with over 70 employees, building award-winning custom vehicles.
