Cosmetics is one of the most significant steps in our truck’s lifecycle here at E.C.D. it is the step where we assemble the body and put on all the accessories for the vehicle itself. Jordan Chciuk-Davis is the Cosmetics Lead here at E.C.D. and is in charge of the team that assembles the vehicle and making sure everything on the vehicle is perfect. Jordan is from St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands and has been with E.C.D. since November of 2014. Jordan is ASE A4 certified along with various other certifications in A/C, Power & Performance, Electrical, Manual/Automatic transmissions, and Drive Train. We caught up with Jordan to ask him a little more about his job here at E.C.D.

What position did you start in with ECD?

“I started as a Line Tech, back then we were doing everything, and I got to have my hands on the trucks doing everything from fabrication, to electrics, to work off and now I’m the Cosmetics Lead. “

How would you explain your job to a child?

“I told a little kid just recently, I put all the comfy seats and shiny parts on the outside and inside of the trucks.”   

What inspires you?

“Doing a job that not every mechanic gets to do, it’s not your everyday dealership or mom & pop place, I don’t stand here and do oil changes every day. We build vehicles that are all completely different, and I like doing something different every day.”

If you could switch jobs with anyone here, who and why?

“I wouldn’t switch jobs with anyone, I have done almost every job here and have enjoyed the job I have now as the cosmetics lead.”

What is your favorite build?

“My favorite build is Project Viking which we are working on now. It just looks much different than any other build we’ve ever done. Put it up next any of our other builds and it just easily stands out. One of the most fun builds I think we’ve done is Project Honey Badger, it was so much fun to build and to drive.”

Can you tell me about your most rewarding, challenging, or memorable experiences at ECD?

“One of the most memorable moments is Elliot giving me my job; I’m sure he regrets that to this day still. One of the most rewarding moments for me is every time I see one of our trucks in the marketing videos; it is cool to see the trucks from a different perspective than just here in the shops.”

How do you like to spend your time when you're not at work?

“I spend all my time fishing when I’m not at work. If I’m not fishing, then I will be going through my fishing gear or working on my car.”

Jordan’s department is an essential part of our trucks journey in creation. He and his team must make sure every piece is perfect on the vehicles while keeping his team running smoothly to ensure proper deadlines are met for the truck’s delivery.
