Originally built as a way to compete in a market with Jeep, the Land Rover Defender quickly became established as a do-anything, go-anywhere vehicle. Utilized as a military vehicle built to tow supplies, men, and materials, the Defender became synonymous with standing up in even the toughest terrains. The global vehicle slipped into everyday lives as a sheep truck, mudding 4×4, and all-around go-to adventure utility vehicle. Getting its owners out of the stickiest of situations makes sense that clients looking to customize a Land Rover Defender today would want it to be a Safari-ready styled Land Rover Defender.
We recently asked people on our Instagram their first experience with a restored Land Rover defender. An answer that consistently stood out was taking a safari Land Rover Defender adventure; in fact, many said this experience made them fall in love with the Defender in the first place.
Built with everything that made the Defender an excellent utility vehicle, a Safari Land Rover Defender has some of the most functional features and cool accessories — starting with a fully capable roof rack with basket, ideal for luggage and gear when camping or going off the grid. Performance features include coil spring shock absorbers, air ride adjustable suspension, capable off-road tires, and upgraded Fox or Brembo brakes. The more fun features of the safari Land Rover Defender include a snorkel, perfect for taking your vehicle through lakes and deep mud; the snorkel helps protect everything under the bonnet from the extra moisture. A warn winch and bumper make pulling other 4x4s or your Defender easy.
Capable of seating up to 10, the Safari Land Rover Defender 110 is ideal for maximum passengers, comfort, and additional supplies and storage space. Our project Buffalo is a pickup D110 with a snorkel, full rear structure roll cage for offroading with passengers in the bed, and seating for 5. Our Project Invictus was built specifically for camping with a built-in roof tent, a long-range Midland CB radio, a portable solar unit, an isolated battery, and 12V power to the tent. The smaller Safari Land Rover Defender 90, like our Project Family Vacation (appropriately named), is ideal for more agile off-road adventures with special features such as removable beach doors, a spare tire on the bonnet, Hella spot lamps, and a front brush guard bumper for Safari-like terrains. The Safari Land Rover Defender 130, like our Project Viper built to mud through Costa Rica, has features like removable sand tracks built into the rear, special storage for additional jerry cans, and a rear roll cage for the complete look. Fun and function make this style of Defender perfect for adventures and taking whatever challenges you can throw at it. Built to last, the Safari Land Rover Defender can be customized to any journey you plan for it, with a wide range of accessories equipped for any destination.
