The all-new Land Rover Defender takes a number of retro styling cues from its ancestor, the iconic Defender 110. But as accomplished and stylish as the new model appears to be, it may not satisfy everyone. The owner of an already rare Defender 110 knows this all too well, having tasked Florida-based ECD Automotive Design to completely overhaul his beloved ride, a 1993 North American Spec (NAS) Defender 110.
Due to its advancing age, some necessary updates were completed, but the owner decided to forgo the typically popular 6.2-liter LS3 V8 customers want. Instead, what's been deemed "Project Alpine Yeti" has a 2.8-liter Cummins diesel under the hood, paired to a custom stainless steel exhaust and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
