One of the most significant customizations you can make to your custom Defender is choosing which grille option best fits your build’s style. Much like the many other customizations offered by ECD, your classic Defender has a range of Defender grille upgrades that can transform your build from heritage to modern.

Heritage Defender Grille 

Our most popular grille option is the Classic styled grille, which offers a vented, slightly more modern look for your Land Rover Defender. This style keeps the heritage of the Defender with its simplicity while modernizing the vehicle in glossy black paint. The Classic Grille is similar to most mid-modern day vehicles. The vented style is designed for maximum airflow and a classic fit with the option to add a Land Rover clip style badge to the front.

Classic Mesh Grille

If you’re looking for a more heritage-styled grille, then our heritage grille option is the way to go. The boxed heritage style grille is a mesh style grille that our clients usually opt to have painted a gloss black or, for an even more classic look, an accessory or body-colored match paint. There is a traditional styled mesh grille, and then the heritage styled Land Rover mesh grille, ringing true to the original Defender look. The biggest differentiator is that the Land Rover mesh grille includes the specialty Land Rover oval badge in front, a signature feature for classic Land Rovers.

Kahn X-Lander Grille

On the opposite end, if you’re looking to completely modernize your Land Rover Defender, the Kahn X-lander style is our most popular modern grille. Like most accessories made by Kahn, the X-lander grille offers a super resto-mode style that blends rugged with contemporary. This front grille gives the Defender a complete facelift and will look great in any color paint. The X-Lander style grille also includes light surrounds to complete the look and transform the entire front of your Defender with Kahn’s signature bolt finish.

Defender Adventure Grille

Another alternative that adds a modern touch to the traditional vent grille style are the Land Rover Adventure Grille painted in either black or body color. The honeycomb style adds a custom touch to your build and is traditional to newer  Land Rover Defenders. Like the vented Classic Grille style, this Defender grille upgrade includes a space to add a vintage Land Rover badge to the front, although this badge will need to be custom-made or ordered. The Adventure Grille, with it's shapely vent holes, is the closest style to what is popular among more modern day vehicles, bringing your build into the 21st century.

Defender KBX Grille

The KBX Grille is another grill option that includes light surrounds, giving the front view of the vehicle a seamless and completed look. This grille has larger horizontal vents with wire  mesh behind the grille. The KBX Grille offers a modern look for the Defender and goes best with KBX wingtops and side vents for a rugged 4x4 finish.

The majority of these grille options are all made from moulded ABS or plastic with a high quality and durable finish. With ECD’s 3D rendering software, you can preview each style for your restored defender or land rover build, although depending on the style of your Defender, it may be fairly obvious which Defender grille upgrade works best for your vehicle
