These custom Defenders were originally built for ECD clients who have since decided to trade-in and purchase another custom Defender. While we can attest to the craftsmanship and quality of every vehicle that comes in on trade, each vehicle is still subject to our vigorous and thorough 400-point quality control inspection before being listed for sale. You can rest assured you are purchasing premium quality luxury vehicles from ECD whether you build-to-order or purchase one that’s already available.

Do you offer models other than custom Defenders?

— We are a premier automotive company specializing in building classic, custom luxury Land Rovers. Additional models in our line-up include restored Range Rover Classics and restored Series IIAs.

Is there a diesel engine option?

— We proudly offer the 2.8L Cummins Turbo Diesel for custom Defenders. It produces 161-horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. That’s nearly double the horsepower and four-times the torque of the original Rover diesel!

How much is a custom truck?

— If you have a classic Land Rover that you would like to part ways with, we provide a way for sellers to network with potential buyers through our “List Your Defender” service. Where can I purchase Defender parts that I saw on one of your trucks?

— At this time, we, unfortunately, do not sell parts. However, if you saw one of our trucks and you’re interested in a specific part, we are always happy to provide specs and vendor information when available. What engine options can I choose from for my custom Defender?

— Whether you prefer maximum performance and reliability or prefer to keep it classic, we have options for you. We proudly offer several drivetrain options for you to choose from including the Chevrolet 6.2L LS3 V8, Chevrolet 5.3L LC9 V8, Cummins 2.8L Turbo Diesel, Rover 4.0L V8, and our all-new electric (EV) option. All engines can be paired to a 6-speed automatic, 8-speed automatic, or 5-speed manual transmission.

— Each vehicle built by ECD starts with a base vehicle imported from overseas. While we do not offer this service individually, we can provide you with some guidance on how to go about the process of importing a classic Defender from the UK.

Will I be able to register my ECD custom Defender in CA with strict emissions regulations?

— Before designing your dream ECD vehicle, it’s important to understand the laws and regulations within the state you intend to register your vehicle. Many states are adopting the strict emissions regulations originally set forth by the state of California. If you live in California or a state with similar regulations, we offer a drivetrain option specifically designed to ensure compliance with all EPA and state regulations.
